Lake Balaton
The eastern basin: shallow water, wide beaches, and quiet
The east end is the calmest part of Lake Balaton. Everything you’d come to the lake for is within fifteen minutes, and the lakefront crowds stay 6 km away.
Four beaches in Akarattya
Bercsényi is the biggest, with two and a half hectares of tree-lined shore, a three hundred meter promenade, volleyball, and kayaks. Bezerédj is the quietest, Lidó runs a long way down the shore, and the free Gumirádli beach is right next to it. The shallow water on the east shore is great for small kids.
The bluff
The bluff at Akarattya rises 50-60 meters above the lake, and on a clear day you can see all the way to Tihany. There’s a wooden observation deck, the renovated Kisfaludy promenade, and below it Rákóczi tér, with the successor of the famous plane tree.
By bike
The 203 km Balaton bike loop runs through Akarattya, and since 2022 the Budapest-Balaton bike path connects here too, via Balatonfőkajár. The 78 km short loop around the eastern basin is doable in a day.
Boats, marinas, fishing
There are sailing marinas in Kenese and Akarattya, and ferries from Füred and Siófok also serve the eastern basin. Fishing licenses are available as general or shore-zone licenses.
Balaton Park Circuit
A 4.1 km racetrack with 17 turns that opened in May 2023 in neighboring Balatonfőkajár. It has hosted the MotoGP Hungarian Grand Prix and the Superbike World Championship since 2025; the 2026 race is June 5-7.
Airfield, alpine coaster, adventure park
Helicopter sightseeing flights over the lake leave from the Főkajár airfield. Balatonfűzfő has a 1.5 km alpine coaster, an adventure park, archery, and an observation tower.

Pricing
A new home on your own lot, ten minutes from the beach
Prices in the lakefront towns have been climbing for years, and there’s less and less for sale on the water. In Csajág, you get a new energy-efficient home on a lot of 803 to 1056 square meters, ten minutes from the beach, for less than lakefront prices.
We’ll give you an exact price for your lot, home, and construction method in a written cost estimate.
